Nan Hayworth is upset about the new health care law. After all, it might cut into her husband's profits at his enormous Mt. Kisco Medical group. What better reason could there be to advocate repeal of a law that would make healthcare available to millions in the middle class and prevent people with pre-existing conditions from being denied access to health insurance?
And she now has a partner in crime - the "beloved" former governor, George Pataki.
Pataki is making bogus claims about the new health care law, via an organization that hired him to be its mouthpiece, Revere America. The former governor is attacking Congressman John Hall for voting to reform our healthcare system.
Pataki wants to repeal the entire health care law and has spent $370,000 against John Hall alone trying to do so. (And that's just against John Hall. They have spent over $1.1 million in total bashing health care for you and me!) Nan Hayworth is in complete agreement with Pataki on this.
Do you think that Nan may regret cozying up to Pataki, given the scrutiny currently being paid to him by the SEC in regards to his involvement in a penny stock pump and dump scheme? Nope. Turns out that's just the kind of message and spokesperson that she's comfortable with.
How can we expect a woman (and doctor!) who wants to kill guarantees of access to basic healthcare rights to stand up for us in Congress? How can we expect a multi-millionaire who surrounds herself with ethically questionable billionaires, tax loophole surfers, and SEC investigation targets to look out for our bottom line?

Hayworth is blanketing talk radio with ads this week. I even heard two different Nan Hayworth ads in a row today on WABC's #1 top rated show. I can't say I've ever heard two ads for the same candidate back to back like that in my lifetime. Is this the new Citizen's United era of politics?
The funny thing is, Hayworth's ads blame Hall for doing things she does worse. One ad says Pelosi and the Democrats are trying to buy "our seat" - jeez, don't you have to win it before you call it yours? And does "ours" refer to Hayworth and her Wall Street backers or does it refer to Hayworth and her health insurance backers?
