I am a resident of Pearl River and I would like to correct the misinformation of the moron who wrote this piece. There were no insurance lobbiests at that meeting. Just citizens of Orangetown. You may call us anything you wish. You may smear us anyway you like. You may lie all you want....we are not going to be silent anymore, nor are we going to go away.

You are no better than those you attack and you are adding fuel to the fire. More and more people are making their voices heard. You will not silence us. Obama's Civilian Security Force doesn't frighten us.

To smear Paul Whelan for attending a meeting held in HIS TOWN is reprehensible. There were several politicians in the room. I noticed that Ms. Berkley and Mr. Kleiner were there and sitting at the head of the room. Were they running/sponsoring this meeting? They did nothing to stop that nasty man who attacked the Doctor who came from Hungry to escape Communism. Nor did they stop him when he lashed out at those who wished to hear Ms. Kelley but still wished to make their views (as residents of Pearl River) known. The electorate would like to know if Berkley and Kleiner secretly ran this meeting. Frankly they frighten me far more than someone who sat quietly in the audience and listened to both sides of the issue.

I also find it someone frightening that Mr. Whelan was attacked by and OFA person and that the said person would then brag about it. Did anyone on the right attack Mr. Kleiner or Ms. Berkley? I didn't think so...

For the person who accuses Mr. Whelan of swimming with pigs...I take extreme exception to such a comment. I am not a pig. I am an educated American which is more than I can say for you Mr. Potty mouth....When I hear from people like you I always keep the adage "Profanity is the Wit of Imbeciles" in mind. I then dismiss your views entirely as not worth paying attention to because you are...an imbecile.

I attended the meeting. It was very much represented as a listening tour. I guess someone should clarify that it is a listening tour, but only for those who agree with the President's Agenda.

I think there were hecklers and nasty persons on both sides of the issue. I most certainly heard a very loud vocal gentleman who was siding with the President's agenda suggest that those who were not there to support the President's agenda should leave. I applaud Moira Kelley who ran the meeting as well as those on both sides who exchanged ideas and suggestions without stooping to the kind of thing that the reporter here has.

It is very imortant to remember that no one on either side of this issue should be following anyone blindly. This is the United States it is important that we speak our minds and educate each other so that we may find common ground.

Neither side is right or wrong here. We must find what is best for our Nation not what is best for the Legacy of a single man or a single party.

I hope both sides will remember that.

In conclusion I will share that the only thing that disturbs me about OFA is the need for it. Since when does a single group have a direct line to the White House (as long as they agree with the White House) but the citizenry of America are turned away and tuned out because we do not agree with the White House? Why aren't our representatives listening to both sides of this issue and representing the people who elected them? Since when do they and the president know better than the American People?

The woman was repeating the same lines over and over and the man, who thought she was done talking because there was a pregnant pause, told her that this wasn't a town hall but a meeting of healthcare reform supporters that backed the President's plan. Nobody told anyone to get out. Please don't lie about what happened.

I attended the meeting and it happened pretty much as the blogger said it did. I did not hear him talk to Whalen about the Confederate Flag, but if I did hear another woman say that Whalen was campaigning in Blauvelt in the same pickup truck.

I am a resident of Pearl River and was also under the impression that it was a "listening " tour ...meaning that OFA would be listening to us.........Now just because we had different opinions that OFA does not justify the "pig" terminology.....Is this not still America where we are free to voice our individual opinions.
What was interesting that afer the little groups got up to discuss their groups thoughts the folks that support this plan had nothing to report except that they all had exchanged e mails. Mean while a spoke person in opposition spoke with very excellent thoughts and opinions which I think many who thought they supported OFA ended up talking with her after about some of her comments that they were uniformed about so perhaps a few left with questions about a plan they thought they were supporting.
As far as being a bit passionate both sides had a few passionate people that spoke out interrupting the person speaking

I attended the meeting and found it to be quite different than what is here reported. For one thing it was advertised as a listening tour, and held at a public site, the library, and assumed it was open to all. For people to confuse this with a townhall meeting was an honest mistake; so for issues not to be discussed at all was a surprise to a lot of people.There was one heckler, a man who was pretty rude and kept yelling "right winger" to some of the women in back, and told them to basically get out if they didnt support the president, but I did not find any heckling outside of that taking place at all.It was a lively meeting i thought and a pretty interesting varied crowd of people. i didnt see the signs outside but i had been in the library reading for quite ahwile before happening upon the meeting.

Although he desecrated Senator Kennedy's memory while denigrating the President with a particularly evil personal smear, he should be commended for fighting for what he feels is right - in this case, the profiteering healthcare companies destroying America's competiveness in the global marketplace.

Congratulations. Next time hold your meeting in the Ghetto. That helps. Meetings held in places where teabaggers feel safe will have problems.

We held a film event last month in N. Charleston, a racially mixed area and hired an off duty police officer. We implemented a full security plan and had no major problems. Hiring the office did, however, eat up all the revenue generated, but we got the event done.
